Miquel De Jorge Artells (Spain)

Composer for film and concert music • Violinist

Miquel works in both the audiovisual and classical music worlds, creating scores for film, television, and concert performance. His talk —
“Inside the Process: Creating Music for Visual Media and the Concert Stage” —
will take us behind the scenes of his creative workflow:
how ideas form, how sound and image influence one another, and how musical language shifts depending on whether it is written for a screen or a concert hall.

Trio no Treble is an unconventional string trio consisting of viola, cello, and double bass. With a warm, rich sound and a playful artistic identity, the trio focuses on making classical music open and engaging for audiences of all ages.
They collaborate across genres — from folk and jazz to pop, contemporary music, theatre, and more — creating concerts filled with creativity, humour, and storytelling.

This edition brings together two exceptional artists who explore the boundaries between sound, image, and movement:

🎹 Bjørk-Guinevere Kinsella Eide (Norway)
Pianist, conductor, and composer working within classical and electroacoustic music. Her creative process often begins with feelings, images, or colors — transforming sound into visual experience. Bjørk has composed and performed for film, silent film, and theatre. Her latest work Allusions (for piano, electronics, voice & film) premiered at the Festspillene i Nord-Norge 2025. She also performs as an actor in the children’s theatre production Red–Blue–Yellow and is a member of the band Orange+Blue.

🎥 Nikita Diakur (Germany)
An animation artist known for using computer simulations to depict everyday life with chaos, randomness, and humor. A graduate of the Royal College of Art, London, Diakur has received international recognition for his award-winning films Ugly, Fest, and Backflip. He regularly gives lectures and workshops and is part of the Q21 Artists-in-Residence program in Vienna as well as the European Film Academy.

Maimu Jõgeda – Estonian accordionist, composer, arranger, and educator,
and Carl Vallin – founder and artistic director of Skallsjö Sommarorkester and concertmaster at the Royal Swedish Opera.

Once again, we’ll explore musical productions that go above and beyond — and as always, you are warmly welcome to join us!

🎶 About our guests

Maimu Jõgeda is an Estonian accordionist, composer, arranger, and educator, known for her distinctive and expressive musical style that blends Estonian and Nordic folk music traditions. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and a Master’s degree in Nordic Folk Music from the Sibelius Academy — a joint program that also took her to Sweden, Denmark, and Norway (Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Danish National Academy of Music in Esbjerg, University of Bergen – Ole Bull Academy, and University of the Arts Helsinki).

This year, Maimu released her third solo album, Nordic Reflections, featuring original compositions inspired by Nordic folk traditions. In addition to performing as a solo artist and with ensembles such as Hostikka and Alterne, she is passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration — combining music with theatre and visual art. Recently, she has been working with a theatre pedagogue on a shadow puppet theatre performance and collaborating with an animation artist, exploring how sound and image can grow together. She will also share insights from her project “Musical Walk,”inviting people to experience music through movement and the surrounding environment.

Carl Vallin is the founder and artistic director of Skallsjö Sommarorkester and serves as concertmaster at the Royal Swedish Opera. In this seminar, he will speak about the place of classical music in modern society, building an organisation for artists by artists, and our evolving relationship with the audience.
