Youth Orchestra Seminar – Østfold

Young musicians meet professionals

As part of NordSync Forum – Østfold, a two-day Youth Orchestra Seminar was organised in Sarpsborg, bringing together young musicians from across the region for an intensive programme of ensemble playing, masterclasses and social activities.

The seminar created a unique meeting point between young performers and professional musicians from Norway, Sweden and Finland, strengthening both artistic development and regional collaboration.

Learning through collaboration

The seminar combined:

– Orchestra and ensemble playing
– Individual masterclasses (violin, viola, cello and piano)
– Workshops and inspiration sessions
– Social activities and informal interaction

All activities were led by professional musicians participating in NordSync Lab, creating a direct connection between high-level artistic practice and local youth environments.

Open and inclusive

The seminar was designed to be accessible for all participants, regardless of economic background, with a strong focus on:

– Musical development
– Sense of mastery
– Community and inclusion

Participants worked with both classical repertoire and adapted arrangements of popular music, creating an engaging and varied learning experience.

NordSync Project is a network for musicians and other performing artists in the Nordic-Baltic region. We particularly emphasize collaborative musical productions that integrate with various genres of performing arts.
