On September 2, 2024, Nordavind Ensemble (a member of NordSync Network) in collaboration with Rødøy Orkesterforening and Helgeland Museum invited schoolchildren from Konsvikosen and surrounding areas on a cultural hike to Tonneshula – one of Norway’s most impressive sea caves.
Due to a rockfall in Tonneshula, we had to relocate the performance to Helgeland Museum, Grønsvik Coastal Fort. The event took place in one of the fort’s largest bunkers, which helped create a similarly atmospheric setting.

The performance included Norwegian folk music on fiddle, romantic works by Grieg and Brustad, and a dramatic tale of Fanitullen and the Mountains. Color lighting enhanced the cave’s natural atmosphere.
The experience ends with a walk to a nearby viewpoint, where students will join in a mini-lunch, discussion, quiz, and a hands-on art workshop using wax plate illustrations inspired by the myths.
