From 20–23 November, NordSync Project completed the second edition of NordSync Lab, this time hosted in Mosjøenand dedicated to exploring jazz-inspired interdisciplinary performance. The Lab brought together professional musicians from Norway and Sweden, strengthening creative collaboration across Helgeland and the wider Barents region.
Lost in the Stars – en hyllest til Radka Toneff

The core of Lab #2 was the development of a new production:
Lost in the Stars – a tribute to Radka Toneff,
a heartfelt reimagining of the music of one of Norway’s most iconic jazz singers. Under the artistic mentorship of Bodvar Drotninghaug Moe, the ensemble created a chamber-style reinterpretation of Toneff’s songs, blending jazz expression with classical instrumentation.

The Lab ensemble featured:

- Etleva K. Brandth – violin (Vefsn-Ensemble)
- Stepan Frolov – violin (Nordavind Ensemble)
- Iida-Alina Poijärvi – cello (KammeRana)
- Bence Tóth – viola (LTU Orkesterakademiet, Sweden)
Seminar for Young Talents
An important part of this Lab was the youth seminar held in Mosjøen on 21 November, organised in collaboration with Rødøy Orkesterforening, Vefsn Kulturskole, and Ytre Helgeland Strykeorkester.
Young musicians from across Helgeland participated in pop music workshops led by the Lab’s professional artists. Supporting the next generation of musicians is a central part of NordSync’s mission, and youth-focused activities will continue to be integrated into every NordSync Lab.
