10 October 2026 | Hoppern ungdomsskole, Jeløy, Moss
Concert: 15:00 | Free admission
Nordisk Suite brings Norwegian and Swedish folk traditions together with classical chamber music in a new work by Norwegian composer Bodvar Drotninghaug Moe.
At the centre of the work are two characteristic Nordic folk instruments: the Norwegian Hardanger fiddle and the Swedish nyckelharpa. The solo parts are performed by Duo Nøkkelfele – Sunniva Herland Monstad and Hsiang-Yin Hsiao.
The Moss performance is the culmination of the youth project Sammen på scenen – Nordisk Suite, where young musicians from Østfold spend the day rehearsing and working alongside professional musicians. The concert brings the young participants together with Østfold Strykekvartett and the two soloists in a shared performance.
The project reflects a central idea in NordSync’s work: professional artistic quality and active participation do not have to exist separately. Young musicians are invited directly into the artistic process and are given the opportunity to experience a large Nordic production from inside the ensemble.
Nordisk Suite combines classical form, folk-music traditions and the distinctive sound worlds of Norway and Sweden – creating music about cultural exchange, cooperation and a shared Nordic musical heritage.
