Meyergården Spektrum, Mo i Rana
Presented in connection with Smeltedigelen Musikkfestival

After development through NordSync Lab and performances in Østfold, Nordisk Suite reaches its largest format in Mo i Rana.
Composer Bodvar Drotninghaug Moe has created the work for Hardanger fiddle, nyckelharpa and orchestra, bringing together elements of Norwegian and Swedish folk music with classical orchestral writing.

The soloists are Duo Nøkkelfele – Sunniva Herland Monstad and Hsiang-Yin Hsiao.
In Mo i Rana, they are joined by a large Nordic ensemble of young and amateur musicians together with professional performers and instructors. Musicians from Norway, Sweden and Finland meet on the same stage as part of the Nordic Youth Music Initiative – Helgeland 2026.

The performance represents one of the largest participatory productions developed through NordSync so far. Around 80 young musicians are brought together across national borders, supported by professional artists and educators.
The project combines artistic production with cultural exchange, youth participation and long-term cooperation between music schools, voluntary organisations and professional cultural environments in the Nordic and Barents regions.
The Mo i Rana performance is therefore more than a concert: it is the artistic culmination of several days of rehearsals, workshops, meetings and encounters between young musicians from three countries.
